Our Story

Every website has a story, and your visitors want to hear yours. This space is a great opportunity to give a full background on who you are, what your team does, and what your site has to offer. Double click on the text box to start editing your content and make sure to add all the relevant details you want site visitors to know.

If you’re a business, talk about how you started and share your professional journey. Explain your core values, your commitment to customers, and how you stand out from the crowd. Add a photo, gallery, or video for even more engagement.

Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound (GLOSS) was founded in 2023 by musicians and artists, Lewis & Suzi Cook as a means to create and support community, connection, creativity, diversity, ritual and meaning to electronic music in Glasgow, Scotland and beyond.

As well as hosting the ITEM workshops (previous editions inspired the formation of GLOSS), our scope as an organisation will be expanding to include gigs, one-off workshops, tutorials, online resources and, importantly, access to our growing library of electronic instruments and gear.

This library includes instruments donated to us from synthesizer manufacturers from around the world as well as personal donations and loans from individuals who share our values for connecting instruments with creative people regardless of their financial means.

We will reveal more details about the instruments available in our library with a full catalogue and we will begin to detail upcoming events where you can book and access them in 2024.

In the meantime, if you have a bit of electronic gear you would like to donate or loan to GLOSS with the intention of connecting more people with electronic music, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We are extremely grateful for all donations and will be publishing a regularly updated full list of donators when our catalogue is revealed.
